About Council Tax discounts and exemptions
You can get money off your Council Tax bill, or even pay nothing, in certain circumstances.
Council Tax relief is available for properties affected by the recent floods. An initial three month discount is available.
We understand your situation may extend past the initial three months, if so, make sure you inform us so we can consider extending your Council Tax discount.
If you are living elsewhere then Council Tax discount may also be applied to a Council Tax charge due on your temporary accommodation. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to apply for the relief or to discuss your situation further.
Discounts and exemptions
A discount or exemption depends on your current situation and circumstances, but does not take account of income or savings. If you are on a low income, you may also be able to get help to pay your bill through Council Tax Reduction. We will need to assess your financial and other circumstances to see what help you qualify for.
There are also some properties that are exempt from Council Tax
