Annual leave and other ad hoc leave
- 25 days per year (or 30 after 5 years Local Government service). This entitlement is calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time employees
- Full-time employees are contracted to work 37 hours per week

Travel, car allowances and schemes
- Mileage allowances at 45p per mile are paid when employees use their car for council business
- Car-sharing - mileage allowances are paid at a higher level when employees provide transport for a colleague
- Mileage rates are also paid for employees using mopeds, motorcycles or bicycles in the course of their duties
