Nordic walking

Nordic walking is a full-body exercise that's easy on the joints and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It's based on using specially designed walking poles in a way that harnesses the power of the upper body to propel you forward as you walk.

We offer free, six-week Nordic walking courses for beginners in Hereford. They are very popular, so we recommend that you book early! Our courses are a great way to learn a new skill in a fun and friendly social atmosphere.

Six week courses start in Hereford

  • Tuesdays from 18 May at 9.45am
  • Wednesdays from 9 June at 6pm
  • Sundays from 13 June at 11.15am
  • Mondays from 21 June at 1.30pm

The training is delivered by qualified Nordic walking instructors from our partner organisation Ignite.

  • 1 hour 15 minute sessions
  • Specialist poles will be provided
  • Suitable for all ages and fitness levels
  • Dress prepared for the weather with sturdy footwear or trainers
  • Meet at the Cabin on Bishops Meadow, Hereford

Led Nordic walks

If you’ve completed a beginners course and would like to practise your skills with an instructor on hand then join a led Nordic walk...Perfect if you haven’t done much walking during lockdown and want to get back to it!

Led Nordic walks will take place in Hereford for six weeks:

  • Mondays at 6pm starting 7 June
  • Fridays at 10.30am starting 25 June

Walks will last approximately 90 mins.
