Planning searches
We offer two options: a free search or a paid search. Planning records are available from 1948 to date.

Free search
We will order all appropriate files and microfiche back to the date you request which may relate to your site. Once we have the information we will contact you to view the documents and extract the information you require. There could be numerous files and microfiche to study due to the historic nature of these records. You can also search all planning applications since 2006 on our planning application search.
To complete the form you will need to:
- Provide details of the site search address
- Upload or email your site plan with the site area to be searched outlined in red
- Confirm the details you wish the search to cover

Planning search - Paid service £42
We will carry out a planning search for you and provide you with a letter and copies of the decision notices relating to your site. This will confirm all the applications we have extracted from the files and microfiche for the search criteria you have requested. We will notify you when the search is complete and send you the copy documents. This may take up to 20 working days. We will tell you if it is going to take longer.
The charge for this service is £42 per site and covers the cost of staff time in searching for and producing the information. This fee will not be refunded in cases where no planning applications are found.
A paid planning search covers all planning applications from the date requested for the site outlined. It does not include building regulation applications.
It can include:
- Applications which are approved, refused or withdrawn
- Listed building consents
- Conservation area consents

- Provide details of the site search address
- Upload or email your site plan with the site area to be searched outlined in red
- Confirm the details you wish the search to cover
- Make the payment of £42 for each site
