Equality in the community
No Prejudice in Herefordshire
The No Prejudice in Herefordshire campaign has been running since 2009. The use of the logo makes it clear that prejudice, in whatever form it shows itself, should not be tolerated by anyone. We aim to provide reassurance to all residents, regardless of their social identity or protected characteristics, that they are safe and protected and to enable them to live safe, healthy and independent lives.
If you would like more information about the campaign, or would like to display a poster or sign on your premises, please contact us.
Community Safety Partnership
Through our membership of the Community Safety Partnership, the we encourage neighbourhoods, villages and towns in the county to become more involved in making where they live even safer. One of the group’s priorities is to promote community togetherness and cut anti-social behaviour. Their Community safety strategy sets out how they will do this.
Community events and national awareness days
We run or are involved in many community events and initiatives designed to advance equality of opportunity, foster good relations and raise awareness of issues.
Examples of Herefordshire events include:
- Refugee Week
- Out In The Sticks
We also take part in national campaigns such as:
- Black History Month
- LGBT+ History Month
- International Day of Disabled People
- Kick It Out
- Holocaust Memorial Day
If you have an idea for an event that you would like to run but need some help, then you can contact us to see if we are able to support you.
