We run a range of courses for parents and guardians who would like to have a little extra support, information and advice when it comes to bringing up children and young people. All are run by family support workers who are trained to deliver courses like the Triple P programme, and the Solihull and Incredible Years parenting courses.
A record of success
Our results are good, so much so that Triple P use our work with families in Herefordshire in their video case histories. Here you can see how we helped one Herefordshire mum deal with a demanding first child, and another develop a new relationship with her six children who were out of control for her, but not her husband.
Free online parenting courses
Most parents would agree that parenting can be hard at times but many do not have the time to go to a parenting course. With this online training, you can do it in your own time and at your own pace.
The available courses aim to help you support a child from pregnancy until the age of 18. They have been written by qualified childcare, education and health experts and give helpful insight into your baby, child or teenager's behaviour.
The Solihull Approach courses include:
- Understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby (antenatal)
- Understanding your baby (0-12 months)
- Understanding your child (until the age of 18)
To sign up, visit www.inourplace.co.uk and register in the top right hand corner using the access code APPLEHERE.
When you've completed a course, there's the option to download and print a certificate.
These courses aim to support you in the most difficult job in the world. We know it works because parents tell us how much more they are enjoying their family life.
