Museum services are currently limited due to a major re-development project.

Advice

Our staff are able to offer fundamental advice on caring for objects and in depth information on historical artefacts.

If you would like specialist conservation, restoration and repair advice then this is available through the national conservation register.

Research

We can help you find out more about artefacts in our collections at our Museum Resource and Learning Centre.

We also have a research library that you can access during your visit which is located in our dedicated research room.

Staff support can be provided free for the first half hour, £30 per hour after that.

Consultation work

We are able to offer curatorial expertise in fine art, costumes, archaeological artefacts, textiles and social history, as well as exhibitions and displays.

Consultation work is provided at £30 per hour, £120 per half day, £225 per whole day.
