You now need to enter your vehicle registration number when using a parking pay and display machine to either obtain a free 30 minute parking session or to purchase a ticket. How to use the parking machines.
Changes to car park charges
Car park charges changed from 23 April 2026 and include the introduction of 30 minutes free parking.

On-street pay and display meters are in force for some of Hereford's city centre streets including Castle Street and St Ethelbert Street, with a maximum stay of two hours.
On-street pay and display locations and charges
On-street pay and display parking restrictions apply from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday (including bank holidays) (free on Sundays) at the city centre locations below.
Pay and display machines take cash and contactless payments by credit or debit card. You can also pay for parking by phone using JustPark, the same as our other car parks.
