Notice of intention to commence a new Local Plan

Under the new planning system, the council are required to publish a notice of intention to commence preparation of the Herefordshire Local Plan. This notice provides communities and other stakeholders with advance information about the plan-making process, including when and how they can participate in preparing the Local Plan.

Timetable

The government has published legislation and guidance that requires all local authorities to adjust the way they prepare Local Plans. This means we have had to review and replace our original plan‑making timetable to ensure we meet the new legal requirements.

The new timetable will formally replace our Local Development Scheme.

The timetable is currently being prepared and will be published here alongside the notice of intention to commence, once finalised.
