Herefordshire Council is continuing to invest in the county’s roads, with a planned programme of resurfacing works taking place throughout October.

The council is investing an additional £13.5 million into the county’s highway network in 2025/26, with many of the road improvement schemes either already completed or underway.

Below is a list of the latest improvement works planned for October:

  • A40 - Lea Village
  • A438 - Lugwardine Bridge
  • B4348 - Poston Mill Park to Vowchurch Turn
  • A44 - Bargates/Barons Cross Road
  • B4348 - Cheeshyre's Bungalow to Poston Court Farm
  • A4110 - Three Elms Road (School to Bakers Lane)
  • B4232 - West Malvern Road to County Boundary Colwall
  • B4350 - Newport Street, Cusop
  • A44 - Stanner Road, Kington
  • U70602 - New Street, Ross-on-Wye
  • U66603 - Beacon Road
  • U65617 - Wells Lane 
  • Fishermans Reach, Wilton, Ross-on-Wye

Cllr Barry Durkin, Cabinet Member for Roads and Regulatory Services, said:

“As we enter autumn, investing in our county’s roads is a top priority. This ongoing resurfacing work will help to deliver better journeys and prepare our highways for the winter months.”

“The work scheduled for October is part of our additional investment of £13.5 million for works across the county in 2025/26, which builds on our investment of £8 million last year.”
