Continuing to invest in Herefordshire roads

Herefordshire Council is continuing to invest in the county’s roads, with a planned programme of resurfacing works taking place throughout January 2026.


The council is investing an additional £13.5 million into the county’s highway network in 2025/26, with 100 miles of road improvement schemes already completed this financial year.

The latest improvement works planned from the New Year are as follows:

  •   5 - 12 January - U70610 - Cantilupe Road, Ross-on-Wye
  • 12 - 13 January - U73440 Church View, Much Dewchurch
  • 14 - 16 January - C1320 Old School Lane
  • 19 - 21 January - Ashes Lane - Byway WC61          
  • 27 - 28 January - C1172 (B4214 to Beggars Ash, Wellington Heath)

Cllr Barry Durkin, Cabinet Member for Roads and Regulatory Services, said: “Investing in our county’s roads remains a top priority and we are committed to continuing to deliver our additional £13.5 million roads improvement scheme into 2026.”
