Universal short breaks and activities open to disabled children
Mainstream community services are those which are open to the general public and do not require a social care assessment. These are known as universal activities and include, for example, youth clubs, uniformed groups (for example cubs, brownies), leisure centres, nurseries, childminders and activity-based groups.
Community services must consider how they can help children with disabilities to use their services.
All Interactive is a service commissioned by Herefordshire Council in April 2017 and delivered by Marches Family Network, working with local activity providers to help them become more accessible for children with disabilities.
You can find details of suitable activities by searching the WISH service directory
