Tree T1: Lombardy Poplar - reduce in height by approximately 50% to a
point 2 metres above woodpecker holes; retaining the holes as habitat
but reducing the leverage and risk of stem failure. Reason - a
climbing inspection was carried out. Test probing the woodpecker
holes on the main stem at approximately 10 metres indicated
significant decay at this point. Over 50% of stem diameter has been
compromised and there is a risk of upper canopy failure during high
winds.
