Face-to-Face and Video Interpreting
Standard Hours
Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm.
Out of Hours
Sundays, bank holidays, and Monday to Saturday, 8pm to 8am

For all jobs, a minimum of one hour’s interpreting will be charged.

Some professional interpreters (e.g. British Sign Language) have higher interpreting and cancellation charges. Where this is the case, we will tell you before confirming your booking.

Cancellation Charges

All cancellations will incur the administration charge.

If the job is cancelled within 24 hours of an appointment’s start time, then you will be liable for the full hourly interpreting rate for the duration booked. Mileage and parking will also be charged if the interpreter incurs these costs.

Full charges apply if either the service user or service provider does not attend the appointment.
Telephone interpreting

£10 per 30-minute slot, plus a £6 admin fee
Out-of-hours cost
£12.50 per 30-minute slot, plus a £7 admin fee

Calls to book or confirm appointments (for which a face-to-face interpreter has been booked) will usually be made free of charge or for just the cost of the call.

We can provide free advice on the use of AI/machine translation (as it is not always appropriate to use it). If you decide to use it, we can provide a post-editing service carried out by a qualified translator. The rate is likely to be around 4p/word, but rates can vary. |

For all services, Herefordshire charities may benefit from a discounted rate, and the cost to private organisations will be higher.
