Voter ID data for General Election
Data released on 30 July by Herefordshire Council shows the number of people who brought ID to the polling station for the UK General Election on 4 July.
There were 145,000 electors across the county who were eligible to vote on 4 May, of these, 96,233 electors voted. There were 177 polling stations.
At the end of polling day, 20 electors (0.02%) who tried to vote in a polling station were not given a ballot paper because they did not meet the new voter ID requirements.
The figures also show while 83 electors were initially turned away, 63 returned with acceptable ID and were able to vote. This means 75.9% of those initially turned away returned and were issued with a ballot paper.
The overall voter turnout at the election was 66.37%.

Voter ID data for Police and Crime Commissioner election
Data released on 17 May by Herefordshire Council shows the number of people who brought ID to the polling station for the Police and Crime Commissioner Elections on 2 May 2024.
There were 148,411 electors across the county who were eligible to vote on 2 May, of these, 26,704 electors voted. There were 177 polling stations.
At the end of polling day, 209 (0.7%) electors who tried to vote in a polling station were not given a ballot paper because they did not meet voter ID requirements.
The figures also show while 209 electors were initially turned away, 32 returned with acceptable ID and were able to vote. This means 15.3% of those initially turned away returned and were issued with a ballot paper.
The overall voter turnout at the election was 17.99%.
