Report a road problem

If it's urgent

In cases where smoke is causing an immediate danger, for example to people or a hazard to traffic, please call the emergency services.

To report an urgent issue, or any of the following, please call 01432 261800.

Calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Traffic light faults on permanent traffic lights. Please note: Traffic lights on the A49 through Herefordshire including through Hereford city centre are the responsibility of National Highways and any issues must be reported to them directly either online or by calling 0300 123 5000.
  • Dead animal on the road
  • Disabled parking bays - obstructed bays or maintenance issues
  • Flooding on a road or footpath
  • Fuel/oil spills
  • Gritting - urgent gritting required to road or pavement
  • Lifebuoys - missing or damaged
  • Manhole covers - damaged or missing
  • Mud on a road
  • Obstruction on the road or pavement requiring urgent attention, including fallen trees
