Faith and Shared Lives

Animated people as example of Shared Lives carers and the people they care forCare, kindness and compassion are found in both religious and shared lives communities. If you're from a faith community, your values and experiences could make you a great carer.

Our carers come from a range of cultural and religious backgrounds. We recognise and appreciate the importance of having a diverse group of carers, because we all bring our own strengths and values.

The diversity is crucial to helping us provide culturally appropriate matches for people. We will attempt to match carers based on their faiths, if it is appropriate, as these shared benefits can build positive bonds that create stable homes.

We encourage those from faith communities in Herefordshire to contact us to explore how you could change the life of a local person.

Your views will not affect your application. However, you would need to consider how you would feel about discussing differing beliefs with anyone you support. It will be your role as their carer to create a supportive environment for them to explore their own values and beliefs.
