Participation and engagement

Our participation and engagement service co-ordinates two groups that children in care and care experienced young people can get involved in:

Your Voice Matters

Your Voice Matters logoThis is your group - run by and for children in care aged 11 - 16.

We meet once a month to hang out, have fun, and talk about what matters to you, as a young person looked after in Hereford. Each session has something different going on, from sports days to bake-offs, craft sessions, games nights and loads more.

But that's not all. We also:

  • Help train and interview social workers (yep, you get to have a say in who's working with you)
  • Run Take Over Days where you get to be in charge
  • Share ideas that actually change how things are done
  • Throw some of the best celebration events

And if you want to take the lead in your own Child Looked After Review, or Personal Education Plan meeting, we'll have your back, because your voice should always be heard when decisions are being made about your life.

Want to get involved?

Drop us a call and join in, it's your space, your voice, your future!

Care Leavers Council

Care Leavers Council is run by our care experienced young people aged 17 - 25.

We meet once a month in the Union Street "Chill Hub", where you can play pool, table football, Xbox, enjoy snacks and chat to us about the things that are important to you.

Come and help us make changes and get involved with being the difference that you want to see!

  • Tell us what you think is working well and how we can do better
  • Have a say about how your support looks and what could improve things for you
  • Work with us to organise your events, like Christmas, Halloween, Care Leavers Month, summer holiday activities
  • Get involved in interviewing new social workers and other professionals
  • Help choose the activities and groups you want to be involved in and give us feedback on how we can improve them.

Come and join in, make new friends, and beat the staff at pool!

We would love to see you there!
