The armed forces community - local picture

For the year 2020/2021 the Department for Education (DfE) recorded 1098 children as eligible to claim Service Pupil Premium across 78 schools in the county of Herefordshire. However, this may not be the full picture, as parents may not declare that their partner (or themselves) is a member of the armed forces. These children are spread across the majority of the schools throughout Herefordshire.

Going forward, the DfE will base their Service Pupil Premium figures for the next academic year based on the October census data. In Herefordshire this means that 991 pupils will be eligible across 71 Herefordshire schools.

The SCiP Alliance has produced a mapping tool which provides an overview of Service Pupil Premium statistics across England. You can use this to drill down into the picture in Herefordshire.
