How to arrange a collection

Our collection will cost £32.53 per three items. This does not include fridges and freezers which are charged per item.

  • You can book a maximum of 12 items per collection
  • Fridges or freezers cost £26.45 per item. We are only able to collect a maximum of three fridges or freezers per property per year
  • Please check the things we can collect and cannot collect before booking
  • In general, acceptable items are those which you would reasonably expect to take with you when moving house, for example, furniture and freestanding household appliances. We do not take built-in appliances as they are classed as fixtures and fittings
  • We are unable to collect from business properties

Please read our full terms and conditions and the information below before booking.

Your collection day and time

We aim to arrange bookings one week in advance. During busy periods we may have to book two weeks ahead.

  • We will ask for a list of items to be collected
  • You will also need to provide a contact phone number

We will give you the collection day at the time of booking. All collections take place between 7am and 5pm.

Where to put items for collection

  • As near to the normal waste collection point as is practically possible
  • We cannot collect from inside a property, building, garage or shed
  • All items must be at ground level. We are unable to collect from upper floor flats or balconies
  • Access to the items must be clear without any obstacles for collection crews to have to walk or step over or move and without danger of anything falling on them
  • Items must be placed outside of gates which are over 4 foot and cannot be seen through into the area the collection crew would need to enter
  • We cannot be held liable for any loss, theft, accident or damage caused as a result of the collection process
  • If you need assistance to get items outside and do not have any help available to you please contact us as we may be able to offer a solution

Commercial bulky collection

We offer a commercial bulky collection service to self-catering holiday accommodation (SCA) and landlords who request removals of bulky items from their rental properties.

This service is not available to any other commercial operation or business (for example, we would not clear offices or shops and do not accept commercial fridges).

Waste from SCA and rental properties is classified as commercial under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Therefore, we can charge for the collection and disposal of bulky household items when requested to do so by the owner, landlord or agent.

Our commercial collection costs £55.26 per three items (excluding fridges and freezers). You can book a maximum of 12 items per collection. Fridges or freezers cost £52.98 per item (restrictions apply to size and weight).

Please check the things we can collect and cannot collect before booking. Unfortunately, we are unable to collect from business properties.

Householders' duty of care

Important! Householders have a legal responsibility to make sure that only registered waste carriers collect their waste. Search the Environment Agency public register of those with a waste carriers licence. Anyone offering a waste collection service, such as odd jobbers, gardeners or builders, needs a waste carriers licence, so if anyone takes waste away for you always remember to:

  • Ask to see their waste carriers licence and make a note of the number
  • Ask for a company headed receipt
  • Note down the telephone number and vehicle registration

If your waste carrier does not have the correct licence, and then disposes of your waste illegally (fly tipping), you as the householder will be held responsible and may be liable to prosecution and could be fined up to £5,000.
