Support with domestic abuse
If you are experiencing domestic abuse, help is available. Major sporting events can be a difficult time for some people. If you are worried about your own safety, or that of someone you know, confidential support and advice are available on our domestic abuse page.
If we have removed your vehicle and you would like to get it back, you will need to provide evidence that the vehicle was not abandoned and that you are the legal registered owner or keeper. There will be a charge to reclaim your vehicle. The charge depends on your circumstances and increases on a daily basis. It is, therefore, a good idea to reclaim your vehicle as soon as you can. You can pay by card or cash.
If we have placed the vehicle in storage, before we release the vehicle to you, you will need to pay any costs incurred by us in removing and storing the vehicle. If you are responsible for abandoning a vehicle, you may also face prosecution. You can contact us using our contact us form, email ethelpline@herefordshire.gov.uk or call 01432 261761 on Monday to Friday - 9am to 4.15pm, telling us your car registration and where the car was parked when we claimed it.
Vehicle release
You can usually collect it within 24 hours (excluding weekends) of contacting us. On collection you will need to provide:
- Card or cash to pay in full
- The vehicle's log book or receipt of purchase to prove you are the registered keeper
Also, if you plan to drive the vehicle away you will need to prove it is road legal by showing:
- A valid MOT certificate
- Valid car insurance
- Valid car tax
- A full and valid driver's licence
