Organise a litter pick

If your community is experiencing high levels of litter, our litter pick pack will help you organise your own local litter pick. The pack includes:

  • Five litter picks
  • Gloves
  • High visibility vests
  • Purple bags

To borrow a litter pick pack please telephone 01432 261800. Litter picking packs are available for collection upon appointment.

Information and procedures for borrowing litter packs and general guidance for organising a litter pick can be found in the Community Litter Pick Toolkit.

If you are an individual or community group that wants to regularly litter pick, your local parish or town council may have a supply of equipment available to loan out to volunteers, or you could join one of the community litter picking groups already active in your area. If you are a group that litter picks regularly and would like us to add your community group to this page please let us know by emailing Stop the Drop.

If you have your own litter picking equipment you can collect purple bags to put your litter in from the council offices at Plough Lane in Hereford or from many of the county's Talk Community hubs.

Purple bags are for litter only and need to be collected by Balfour Beatty, so after your litter pick please leave the filled bags somewhere accessible (such as by a public bin or in a location where a large vehicle can pull over safely to allow the bags to be collected) and then telephone Balfour Beatty on 01432 261800 with details of the number of purple bags, number of miscellaneous items, and an exact location for collection. The bags will then be collected within five working days.
