Organise a litter pick

If your community is experiencing high levels of litter, our litter pick pack will help you organise your own local litter pick. The pack includes:

  • Five litter picks
  • Gloves
  • High visibility vests
  • Purple bags

To borrow a litter pick pack please telephone 01432 261800. Litter picking packs are available for collection upon appointment.

Information and procedures for borrowing litter packs and general guidance for organising a litter pick can be found in the Community Litter Pick Toolkit.

If you are an individual or community group that wants to regularly litter pick, you can apply for the following equipment: litter pickers, hi-vis jackets, purple bags and holders by completing our litter picking equipment request form. Unfortunately we cannot donate equipment to schools, businesses or other organisations as our external funding has now ended.

Any organisations or groups that want equipment for short term use, or a one off litter pick, can borrow equipment packs from Balfour Beatty Living Places who can be contacted on 01432 261800. We also recommend contacting your local parish or town council to see if they have a supply of equipment available to loan out to volunteers.

After your litter pick please telephone Balfour Beatty on 01432 261800 with details of the number of purple bags, number of miscellaneous items, and an exact location for collection. The bags will then be collected within five working days.

We can also provide purple bags for collection by Balfour Beatty to any organisations or groups that want to litter pick using their own equipment. If you would like to do that please email us at Stop the Drop and we will send you a purple bag disclaimer form to complete.

Purple bags can be collected from the council offices at Plough Lane in Hereford during normal office hours.

If you would like others to help with your litter pick, just fill out our register your litter pick form and we'll include your details on our current litter picks page.
