Statement of Community Involvement

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out a framework which identifies how and when the council will involve you in the preparation of planning documents. It is a key document within the Local Plan which sets out the long term vision, strategy and objectives which will govern future development and land use in the county.

The redrafted SCI, which was adopted by the council in January 2022, addresses:

  • Who the council will consult with on planning matters, including identifying those at risk of exclusion and how they will be consulted
  • When the council will consult with them on planning matters
  • How the council will consult on all planning matters
