Inspectors' report for the Minerals and Waste Local Plan

The council received the Inspectors' final report on the examination of the Herefordshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan (MWLP) on 31 October 2023. Receipt of the Inspectors' report marks the end of the examination.

The Inspectors' report concluded that, subject to the recommended main modifications set out in the appendix to their report, the MWLP is sound, legally compliant and capable of adoption. It therefore satisfies the requirements of section 20(5) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and meets the criteria for soundness in the National Planning Policy Framework.

The report and appendix were also available to view electronically at Herefordshire libraries.

The next step was for the Inspectors' report to be presented to a Full Council meeting in spring 2024 for debate on adoption.
