National Landscapes Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)

From November 2023, all Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty have been rebranded in line with the government's Landscapes Review of 2019 and their working name is now 'National Landscapes'.

It's a new family name which will help enhance the status of the designation and which better reflects the important role these landscapes play across England and Wales in delivering natural solutions to many environmental and social challenges we are currently facing.

The legal designation status remains unchanged and the two National Landscapes in the county – the Malvern Hills and the Wye Valley National Landscapes remain as AONBs and some of the most visited areas of the county.

National Landscapes (AONBs) are looked after by partnerships that include representatives from local authorities, government agencies, parish councils, landowners, local communities and voluntary groups.
