Free seminar offers practical and effective advice to those exposed to loud noise through work
Herefordshire Council’s Environmental Health team are hosting a free seminar for those who work in loud pubs and clubs.
The free seminar is open to bar staff, music students, music production operators, security staff, pub and club owners and managers and anyone else who works in the industry and may be exposed to loud noise through work.
Exposure to noise at work can cause irreversible hearing damage - but it is preventable. Excessive noise at work can lead to deafness, tinnitus or other hearing conditions which can be difficult to detect as the effects gradually build up over time.
The seminar will suggest a number of practical and effective ways to protect employers and employees against hearing damage at work. There will also be information about the effects of noise, the effects of tinnitus, a review of the legislation and an outline of business and employee responsibilities.
The free ‘Noise at Work’ seminar for students, employees and business takes place on Tuesday 8 October, 2.30pm-4pm at The Kindle Centre, Hereford.
