Herefordshire Council is reminding people that they can enjoy free parking this Saturday as part of our countywide free parking pilot event.
Local people and visitors will receive free parking for up to 4 hours after 10am on all council car parks in Herefordshire (except Friar Street, Hereford) on Saturday 9 February 2019.
Cllr Barry Durkin, Cabinet member transport and regulatory services, said:
“We are delighted to offer this free parking day which we hope will benefit local residents and businesses and encourage more visitors to spend a day in our vibrant county. We will be working with our stakeholders and partners to monitor the impact of the event which will help shape our future approach to parking concessions, so the more information we have, the better. The council is committed to positive action to ensure that car parking is managed to support our local economies”
“It would be a shame for people to miss out because they hadn’t heard, so we are trying to spread the word as widely as possible. It will be great news for the local economy if people could make the most of this opportunity to enjoy themselves by visiting our wonderful city and town centres.”
Parking Enforcement Officers will observe traffic and parking patterns, but customers will not be required to purchase tickets.
Please note that this event does not apply to on-street paid for parking.
