Disposal of the smallholding estate is progressing
Herefordshire Council can confirm that the disposal of the smallholding estate is progressing, with strong bids received.
The sales continue to be handled by Fisher German, the council's appointed agents, and all successful bidders and under bidders have now been notified.
Councillor Harry Bramer, Cabinet Member for Contracts and Assets, said:
"Several tenants have been successful in bidding for their farms or have secured other opportunities as a result of the sale.
"A very small number of tenants will be adversely affected, and Herefordshire Council is committed to its duty of care to the local community and to tenants. All decisions will be taken as quickly as possible so the sales can proceed efficiently for all parties.
"Tenants' welfare will continue to be supported throughout the sales process, ensuring that their respective rights are protected."
The process of the launch, marketing and handling of bids and subsequent sales has, and will continue to, follow our adopted governance procedures.
