Herefordshire Council has today (Thursday 29 June) launched its budget priorities consultation for 2018/19 and would like residents and businesses to have their say.

The council's current savings plans require a further £10.6m of savings in the 2018/19 to 2019/20 financial years, making a total of £87m of savings since 2010.

Comments received from the consultation will inform the 2018/19 draft budget. Full Council will set the final budget in January 2018 and set the council tax levels in March 2018.

Councillor Tony Johnson, Leader of Herefordshire Council, said:

"Herefordshire Council continues to face significant financial challenges alongside increasing demands on the services it provides. We want residents and businesses to have their say as to how we can continue to provide value for money in our service delivery.

"The council's aspiration for the future is for people, organisations and businesses to work together to bring sustainable prosperity and well-being for all, in the outstanding natural environment of Herefordshire. We welcome feedback from the public to help inform our budget setting."

This consultation is open until Saturday 30 September 2017 and is quick and easy to complete online or on your mobile at www.herefordshire.gov.uk/budgetconsultation
