New initiative will provide support for Herefordshire businesses to prepare for unexpected events
The Herefordshire Business Continuity Forum (HBCF), on behalf of Herefordshire Council, is working with industry experts in business continuity and IT to help local businesses develop resilience against unexpected events.
'The 5 Rs' programme is built around the business continuity principles of Risk, Resilience, Response, Recovery and Reassurance. The initiative will help county businesses to build an understanding of how to protect themselves against unexpected events.
Councillor David Harlow, Cabinet Member for Economy and Corporate Services, said:
"Herefordshire Council initially set up the Business Continuity Forum to support local businesses and communities dealing with the aftermath of the floods in 2014. Since the start of this initiative, and with the support of specialist solution providers, HBCF has assisted hundreds of county businesses to mitigate against unforeseen disasters such as cyber-crime, power failures, fire and floods.
"This next phase of support is 'The 5 Rs' business continuity programme, which has been developed alongside industry experts. The events will take delegates through a programme of exercises to increase the preparedness and resilience of the Herefordshire business community."
Councillor Harlow will open the introductory event on Tuesday 16 May. For more information, and to register for a free place, visit whybusinesscontinuity.eventbrite.co.uk
