The Community Champion Awards winners were announced at a ceremony with guest speaker 6 x Paralympic Gold Swimming Champion, Sascha Kindred CBE, at the Town Hall in Hereford on Thursday March 30.

The awards were presented by Lady Darnley, the Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire and the Master of Ceremonies was Paul Deneen OBE, JP, DL. Each winner deservedly received £500.

In thanking all those who took part, Chairman of Herefordshire Council, Councillor Brian Wilcox, said

"It is great to hear about the amount of  time and effort put in by all our finalists into a wide variety of community ventures. This County is truly blessed by a community spirit with wonderful people contributing selflessly for the benefit of others. My thanks to everyone involved for what they do."

The awards, which are generously sponsored by Cargill, were organised by Councillor Brian Wilcox, Chairman of Herefordshire Council and are supported by the Hereford Times.​

The awards have been developed to recognise and say a massive 'Thank You' to the extraordinary individuals and group contributors, living in Herefordshire that make it one of the best places in the country.
