Do you own a mystery object or family heirloom you’ve always wanted to know more about? Then why not ‘Ask the expert’ at Herefordshire Museums & Galleries’ forthcoming event.

Taking place at the History Store, Friars Street, Hereford on Thursday 21 August, you can drop in at any time between 11am and 3pm. It’s free of charge to attend and you will have the chance to meet museum specialists and local experts for object identification and historical insights.

Visitors of all ages are welcome to this hands-on opportunity to explore history and heritage through personal possessions. No need to book – just come along and join us for a fascinating day of discovery.

Damian Etheraads, Head of Culture, Museums, Libraries and Archives at Herefordshire Council, says:

Whether it's a curious coin, an old tool, a natural specimen or a unique collectable, our team of researchers will share their knowledge and give guidance on how to uncover the hidden stories behind your item. So, if you’ve always wondered about an historical object you have in your home, do bring it along and find out about it from our experts.

‘Ask the Expert’ is one of many public events on offer from Herefordshire Museums & Galleries.  There are lots of other activities available, both at the History Store and the Old House Hereford, and via our new Museum on the Move initiative.
