The deadline for local people to take part in the Herefordshire Local Transport Plan 5 consultation has been extended to the end of June, and the council is urging local young people to have their say.

The new Local Transport Plan (LTP5) sets out our transport priorities for 2025–2041, outlining where we will focus transport investment across the county, and how we will work with partners to contribute to achieving our economic, environmental and social ambitions.

Cllr Philip Price, Cabinet Member Transport and Infrastructure, said: "A reliable transport system is key to supporting our county’s economy, the vitality of our communities and protecting our environment. Our Local Transport Plan embodies our vision and steadfast commitment to developing a sustainable, accessible, and efficient transport network that serves every corner of our county.

“Our approach to the Local Transport Plan has been shaped by extensive engagement with local communities and stakeholders, and I would like to thank everybody who has already taken part. If you have not yet done so, there is still time to share your views, and I would encourage young people in particular to get involved. We need to ensure that our network not only meets today’s challenges but also stays responsive to the evolving needs of our county and paves the way for a bright, sustainable future.”

To help ensure the LTP meets the evolving needs of our residents, businesses, and visitors, we are asking for feedback on the draft document.

We particularly want to know:

  • Whether you agree with the overall strategy for different areas across the county
  • Whether you support the proposed measures in the LTP action plans
  • Whether there is anything you feel we have missed

Please share your views by completing our online questionnaire by 30 June 2025.

Hard copies of the draft LTP5 document are also available in all Herefordshire libraries.
