Herefordshire Council is inviting people to share their views on the draft Herefordshire Local Transport Plan 5 (LTP5), which sets out our transport priorities for 2025–2041.
The new Local Transport Plan (LTP5) outlines where we will focus transport investment across the county over the next fifteen years, and how we will work with partners to contribute to achieving our economic, environmental and social ambitions.
The LTP5 includes a series of action plans that guide transport investment to:
- Support a thriving and prosperous economy
- Enable healthy behaviours and improve wellbeing
- Tackle climate change and protect and enhance the natural and built environment
- Improve accessibility and inclusivity
- Improve transport safety and security
Cllr Philip Price, Cabinet Member Transport and Infrastructure, said:
“Our Local Transport Plan embodies our vision and steadfast commitment to developing a sustainable, accessible, and efficient transport network that serves every corner of our county.
A reliable transport system is key to supporting our county's economy, the vitality of our communities and protecting our environment.
The projects outlined in the LTP will support our wider growth ambitions for the county - investment in new and improved transport infrastructure will be pivotal in supporting new housing, access to jobs and protecting the operation of the network. To help ensure the LTP meets the evolving needs of our residents, businesses, and visitors, we are asking for feedback on the draft document.
We particularly want to know:
- Whether you agree with the overall strategy for different areas across the county
- Whether you support the proposed measures in the LTP action plans
- Whether there is anything you feel we have missed
Cllr Price continued:
“Our approach to the Local Transport Plan has been shaped by extensive engagement with local communities and stakeholders. I invite local people to share their views on the future of transport in Herefordshire and help to create a network that not only meets today’s challenges but also stays responsive to the evolving needs of our county and paves the way for a bright, sustainable future.”
Please share your views by completing our online questionnaire by 8 June 2025.
Hard copies of the draft LTP5 document are also available in all Herefordshire libraries.
