You can add your thoughts on the draft domestic abuse strategy and action plan by taking part in a short online survey.

It is estimated that around 8,000 people each year in Herefordshire experience domestic abuse, which may include controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behaviour usually by a partner or ex-partner.

Herefordshire’s multi-agency Domestic Abuse Local Partnership Board is a group of organisations that are working together to improve outcomes for people experiencing domestic abuse and hold offenders to account.

The Board, working with support agencies and with the involvement of people who have lived experience of domestic abuse, have drafted a strategy and action plan. This sets out the Board’s vision for domestic abuse services, key priorities and the actions it wants to take over the next three years to tackle domestic abuse in Herefordshire.

The Board wants to hear your views on their draft plans. Through a short online survey you can tell them if you think they’ve got the strategy and action plan right and share your thoughts on any other actions that could be included.

Councillor Carole Gandy, Cabinet Member for Adults, Health and Wellbeing, said:

“We have made great progress over the past three years in ensuring that the voice of people who have lived experience of domestic abuse is at the heart of everything we do. As we develop our plans for the next three years, we are committed to continuing this approach.

“Herefordshire is a county where domestic abuse is not tolerated and we want everyone to be able to live free from abuse and harm.

“Domestic abuse is everyone’s business. Your feedback is vital in helping us to ensure that where people do have lived experience of domestic abuse they have access to the right support at the right time.”
