Ross-on-Wye Community Garden celebrates the launch of its new Talk Community Hub.

Ross-on-Wye Community Garden is celebrating this month, after launching its new Talk Community Hub.

The hub is the latest in a growing network of Talk Community Hubs across the county, where residents can access free information on a wide range of issues, from how to stay healthy to looking after a loved one, along with signposting to services, groups, events and activities in Herefordshire.

Located in the centre of Ross-on-Wye, the beautiful community garden provides a safe and tranquil space for people to relax and take some timeout from the busy hubbub of daily life.

Councillor Pauline Crockett, Cabinet member for Health and Adult Wellbeing, said:

“Our Talk Community Hubs provide a friendly and safe environment, where residents can meet old and new friends, grab a coffee and access invaluable information through the Talk Community Directory.

“The directory is a free online resource, which helps residents, communities and professionals find wellbeing information on a vast range of topics, whether you want to stop smoking, be more active, improve your mental health or find support to help you care for a loved one or manage your finances.  There’s also a handy what’s on calendar, full of events and activities taking place across Herefordshire, including during the summer holidays.”

Tim Shelley, Ross-on-Wye Community Garden Manager, added:

“We’re delighted to have joined the growing network of Talk Community Hubs.  Our friendly and helpful volunteers will be on hand every Thursday and Friday morning to provide anyone visiting our hub with information and signposting to services, groups and activities in the local area or across the county, using the Talk Community Directory.”

The volunteer run hub on Old Gloucester Road, is open every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 10:30am and 12pm and everyone is welcome to attend.  To find out more, visit www.talkcommunitydirectory.org/rosshubs.
