Final round of consultation now live

Herefordshire Council is encouraging local people to have their say on the final draft of the Minerals and Waste Local Plan (MWLP) for Herefordshire.

The consultation went live this week (12 April) and will run until midnight on 24 May.

The Minerals and Waste Local Plan is important to ensure the county’s resources are managed effectively and sustainably. The draft Plan sets out the vision, objectives and strategy for minerals and waste planning, along with detailed policies and locations for future minerals extraction (such as sand and gravel pits or crushed rock quarries) and the development of waste management facilities.

This is a final draft before the plan goes to examination, and will govern minerals and waste in the county until 2041 and beyond.

To take part in the consultation, and to view the draft Plan and further information, please visit www.herefordshire.gov.uk/mineralsandwaste

A video presentation providing an overview of the policies and proposals of the MWLP, and how to get involved in the consultation, can also be viewed on the website, along with the presentation slides.
