Time is running out to apply for your child’s secondary school place

Apply for your child’s secondary school place for September 2027 before the 31 October.

Parents of children who are 12 years old between 1 September 2027 and 31 August 2028 are urged to apply for their child’s secondary school place before the 31 October deadline.

Parents and carers of Year 6 pupils living in Herefordshire will have received a letter from the Pupil Admissions Officer through their child’s current primary school or via their home address if attending a school in another local authority. The letter contains details of how and where to apply for a secondary school place

All applications can be made online at www.herefordshire.gov.uk/secondaryadmissions

The closing date for all secondary school applications is midnight on Saturday 31 October 2026.

Please note that late applications could result in not being offered a place in a preferred school.

If parents/carers are experiencing any difficulties in completing the application, please contact the Herefordshire Council’s Admissions Officer by calling 01432 260925 or email schooladmissions@herefordshire.gov.uk
