Herefordshire families are in for a treat this Easter as libraries and museums across the county burst into life with a two week celebration of stories, creativity and hands on fun for children and young people.

Herefordshire families are in for a treat this Easter as libraries and museums across the county burst into life with a two‑week celebration of stories, creativity and hands‑on fun for children and young people. 

From Saturday 28 March to Sunday 12 April 2026, Herefordshire Council’s Libraries and Museums will be hosting a vibrant programme of free drop‑in activities, workshops, author events, craft sessions, trails and storytimes designed to keep young minds inspired throughout the school holidays. Whether children love stories, crafts, adventures or dinosaurs, there’s something happening in a library or museum near you.

Easter holiday highlights include:

IN ALL LIBRARIES

Make your own spring bookmark

Free drop‑in craft activity running in all libraries from 28 March–11 April 2026, where children can make their own spring bookmark

Herefordshire Young Historian Award 2026

Join in with a fun competition for children aged 9 - 11years to celebrate family histories, with the chance to win a trophy & prizes!

LEDBURY LIBRARY

Stitch with Kate (31 March)

Easter sewing workshops in the Panelled Room with two sessions: 10 - 11am and 11:30am –12:30pm

Red Earth Arts Workshop (18 April)

Arts workshop run by Jeanette McCullogh and Sara-Jane Arbury in the Victorian Room from 10am – noon

HEREFORD LIBRARY

Stitch with Kate (8 April)

Two Stitch with Kate sessions at Hereford Library: 10-11am and 11.30am – 12.30pm

Teen Lego event (9 April)

Welly Wandering Storytelling Sessions imaginative and playful storytelling adventure led by our libraries team (18–19 April) 

THE OLD HOUSE, HEREFORD

Eggs‑posed! The Dino Discovery Trail (28 March - 12 April)

Step back in time at the Old House Hereford and embark on an egg‑citing family adventure. Follow the dino trail, crack clever clues and uncover roaring dinosaur facts as you journey through time. Free with entry.

Sticky Felt Dinos (1 April, 10am–3pm)

Get stuck in with our playful felt workshop and make your own tactile Jurassic inspired creations.

Dino Day (8 April, 10am–3pm)

A fun‑filled Dino Day with sensory play, archaeology digs and interactive activities, giving families the chance to discover dinosaurs through hands‑on exploration.
