First ever February Half Term Big HAF Day announced for Herefordshire
Herefordshire Council’s Talk Community team is set to run the first ever February Half Term Big HAF Day, offering a free, fun-filled day of activities for eligible children, young people and their families.
The Big HAF Day will take place on Wednesday 18 February, from 10am to 2pm at Whitecross High School, and is part of the council’s Here for Herefordshire Holidays activities programme. The event is aimed at children and young people who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals, providing them with the opportunity to enjoy an exciting day out during the February half term.
Families attending the Big HAF Day can take part in a wide range of activities, including face painting, coding, ceramics, martial arts, forest school activities and much more. The event has been designed to keep children active, creative and engaged, while also giving families the chance to spend quality time together.
In addition to the activities on offer, free, nutritious food will be provided for everyone attending, helping to ensure participants are well fed while taking part in the day’s events.
The Big HAF Day is a new addition to the February half term offer in Herefordshire and reflects Talk Community’s ongoing commitment to supporting families affected by the increase in the cost of living, while creating positive experiences for children and young people across the county.
Cllr Carole Gandy, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, said:
“We’re delighted to be launching the first ever February Half Term Big HAF Day. This event is about bringing families together, giving children the chance to try new activities and have fun, and making sure no one misses out during the school holidays.”
Bookings for the Big HAF Day will open from midday on Monday 2 February.
