It’s time to apply for your child’s secondary school place

Herefordshire Council’s secondary school admissions process opens for applications from today

Herefordshire Council’s admissions process for secondary school places for 2026 opens today for children who were born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015.

Parents and carers of Year 6 pupils living in Herefordshire will receive a letter from the Pupil Admissions Officer through their child’s current primary school or via their home address if attending a school in another local authority. The letter will detail how and where to apply for a secondary school place

All applications can be made online by visiting the secondary school admissions page on the council website

Please note that late applications could result in not being offered a place in a preferred school.

The closing date for all secondary school applications is midnight on 31 October 2025.
