Trinity Primary School Opens Groundbreaking Support Service for Pupils with SEMH Needs

Trinity Primary School proudly unveiled a new specialist support service ‘The NEST’ at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Tuesday 21 October to celebrate a major milestone for inclusive education in Herefordshire.

The event was attended by school staff, pupils, parents and representatives from Herefordshire Council and marked the official opening of Herefordshire’s new dedicated provision for primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Funded by Herefordshire Council, The NEST (Nurture and Emotional Support at Trinity) is designed to support up to sixteen children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The new base offers a nurturing and structured environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and academic engagement with the aim of helping pupils build the confidence and skills needed to reintegrate into mainstream education.

Pupils will benefit from:
•    Two purpose-built classrooms
•    A high adult-to-child ratio providing personalised support
•    Daily activities focused on social and emotional regulation
•    A broad and balanced curriculum delivered through engaging, hands-on learning
•    Enrichment Fridays, featuring creative projects and local exploration
