Parents of children who are 12 years old between 1 September 2026 and 31 August 2027 are urged to apply for their child’s secondary school place before the 31 October deadline. 

Parents and carers of Year 6 pupils living in Herefordshire will receive a letter from the Pupil Admissions Officer through their child’s current primary school or via their home address if attending a school in another local authority. The letter will detail how and where to apply for a secondary school place.

All applications can be made online at www.herefordshire.gov.uk/secondaryadmissions

The closing date for all secondary school applications is midnight on Friday 31 October 2025.

Please note that late applications could result in not being offered a place in a preferred school.
