There's still time to get a free energy review for your business

Businesses can get practical advice on how to save energy, cut costs and access opportunities for grant funding – but remaining opportunities are limited.

Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS) audits are still available for Herefordshire businesses to receive expert support to tackle rising energy costs. But there are only 30 audits still on offer and businesses are being asked to apply by the end of November.

Eligible businesses will receive support from a BEAS adviser through a tailored review of their business, leading to practical ways to save energy and cut costs. Following the review, businesses can then apply for a grant of up to £100,000 to reduce costs, streamline processes and build long-term efficiency.

You could join companies such as Elite Plastics in Rotherwas, Hereford, who turned to BEAS for support in managing rising energy costs and maintaining competitiveness in today’s market.

Elite Plastics’ Company Director, Josh Salmon, said:

The BEAS Programme has been a fantastic resource for identifying energy efficiencies within our business and finding practical ways to address them. It highlighted opportunities that not only boosted our energy efficiency but also delivered strong financial returns, making our operations more competitive in an increasingly tough market.

Councillor Graham Biggs, Cabinet Member for Economy and Growth at Herefordshire Council, added:

Both the energy reviews and funding available through BEAS allow Herefordshire businesses to tackle one of the biggest challenges they face in rising energy costs, saving money and supporting business resilience. We want to see this offer taken up by organisations across the county and I encourage all qualifying business owners to apply.

To qualify for the service, businesses must use 25,000 kWh or more of energy per year and classify as an SME (Small and Medium Sized Enterprise). Grants of between £1,000 and £100,000 are available to firms across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, and Telford & Wrekin, helping them cut overheads, boost efficiency, and strengthen long-term resilience.

Eligible businesses are urged to register for a free BEAS energy assessment at the BEAS pages of the Business Growth West Midlands website.
