‘Herefordshire Volunteering Academy’ is now open and offers exciting opportunities for anyone in the county who wants to volunteer. On the platform, you will find a variety of opportunities at your fingertips, each offering a way for you to give back to your community and improve the lives of those around you.

The Academy allows volunteering organisations to post and promote their opportunities and strengthens the local voluntary sector by giving organisations the tools, training and visibility they need to grow their impact in the community.

Developed in partnership between Herefordshire Council and Goal 17, Herefordshire Volunteering Academy aims to strengthen volunteering in the county by connecting people with causes they care about, supporting local groups, and fostering collaboration across the community.

Everything the Academy provides is completely free of charge to users.

Councillor Carole Gandy, Cabinet Member for Adults, Health and Wellbeing at Herefordshire Council, said:

Volunteering is about much more than simply giving back. It’s also a fantastic avenue for personal growth and offers the potential for valuable work experience. It is a chance to meet new people and make new friends and can give a sense of purpose that may be lacking in everyday routines.
