Support at hand for Leominster businesses as Council launches new local hub

Businesses in and around Leominster now have personalised free of charge support available on their doorstep, as a new Business Hub has opened in the town centre.

The new Business Hub - delivered by Herefordshire Council - in Leominster Library, offers support including advice, signposting to specialists, information on grants and funding opportunities and more.

A Growth Hub Officer will be available during the week, and appointments can also be booked in advance. To help businesses, including start-ups, micro-businesses and SMEs, the office is open throughout the week and on Saturday mornings.

A range of low and no-cost facilities are also available including meeting rooms, coworking/ ’hotdesking’ spaces, high-speed Wi-Fi, and specialist online and printed resources.

Herefordshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Growth, Councillor Graham Biggs, said:

“We’re committed to supporting local businesses, and linking them up with the right specialist advice, market opportunities, networks, and grants and funding opportunities.
“It’s vital we go to where people are - making it easy to access our support. Through the Business Hub, we are also able to offer facilities to work from, for example if businesses need private meeting rooms for client presentations or interviews or even just a desk to work from”.

Cllr Biggs added;

“Our Herefordshire Growth Hub can both provide practical support and signposting to specialist sector support organisations. We aim to help them not just survive but grow, and employ even more people, in better paid jobs.
“I hope local entrepreneurs, sole traders and larger businesses will find it of real value – and look forward to getting businesses’ feedback on how we can further help them grow.”

The Leominster Growth Hub is based in Leominster Library 8 The Buttercross, Leominster, HR6 8BN, It is open from 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with extended hours to 7pm on Thursdays, and 9.30am – 1pm on Saturdays.
