This is a key role at the council, focusing on reducing the causes of ill-health and improving residents’ health and wellbeing.

Zoe brings with her nearly 25 years’ experience of working in public health, including roles within the NHS, voluntary sector, local government and civil service.

Zoe has worked as a Consultant in Public Health, covering a range of portfolio areas including health and wellbeing, integrated care and partnership development, health inequalities and sexual health.

More recently she was interim South West Deputy Director for Health Improvement in the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities. In this role, she worked as part of a blended public health team that included members from the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England.

Zoe said:

I have spent most of my life living in rural communities and have a keen interest in the opportunities and challenges that such geographies present for health and wellbeing.

I will be focusing particularly on reducing health inequalities, improving community engagement and developing partnerships.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know Herefordshire and to working with partners and colleagues to improve and ensure the continued health and wellbeing of its residents.
