Choose from the latest new releases and bestsellers, including children's and teenage fiction, biographies and non-fiction. A wide range of free eMagazine and eNewspaper titles are also available via Borrowbox. So you can catch up on the latest news and download your favourite magazines on the same Borrowbox app.

You can borrow up to six eBooks, six eAudiobooks and six eMagazine or eNewspaper titles for three weeks.

Download the BorrowBox app on any Apple, Google Android or Kindle Fire device. The app features a dedicated eBook reader and eAudiobook player giving you a fully portable library. You can also download titles to your computer or laptop from the BorrowBox website.

How to use BorrowBox


  • App - Download the BorrowBox app on your device from App Store or Google Play. Select Herefordshire Library Service and enter your library card number and PIN. Change your account details under 'Settings'.
  • Online - Visit the BorrowBox website. Enter your library card number and PIN and 'Sign in'. Fill in your account details and 'Submit' to register.


Search, browse and discover the great collection of books by title, author or category using the app, on the BorrowBox website, or on our library catalogue.


Borrow the complete eBook or eAudiobook instantly, or reserve a title that is currently on loan for later. You will receive an email to let you know when your reserved title is ready. Expired loans are automatically deleted, so there are no overdue charges.
