Local Plan - Core strategy
What is the Core Strategy?
The Core Strategy is a key document in the Local Plan, which shapes future development and sets the overall strategic planning framework for the county. It sets a clear vision, closely aligned with the Herefordshire Sustainable Community Strategy (June 2010) as to how the county should look and function and how development needs will be met up to 2031.
The Core Strategy policies will eventually replace most Unitary Development Plan policies, against which current planning applications are determined.
Draft Core Strategy Pre-submission publication for Cabinet 4 July 2013 and Full Council 19 July 2013
After consideration of all of the comments received during the previous consultations, further amendments have been made to the Draft Core Strategy and are included in the Pre-submission Publication version. The revisions to the Core Strategy were shown as track changes and were recommended for approval in the Cabinet Meeting on 4 July 2013. The Pre-submission Publication with approved changes was presented to Full Council on 19 July 2013 for approval as the preferred strategic planning document for Herefordshire.
Pre-submission Publication - Consultation guidance and responses
Draft Core Strategy March 2013
The draft Core Strategy was part of a public consultation from 4 March 2013 – 22 April 2013. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to respond. Our Research Team have recently produced The Draft Core Strategy Survey Report which details all the responses we received. Officers have looked at each response received and compiled a Statement of Consultation which you can download from the documents on the right.
We have produced Policy Direction Papers as background documents for the development of each policy, as set out in Section 7 of the Place Shaping Paper consultation (January 2010).
These outline how the emerging Core Strategy policy directions were developed in the early stages of the plan production.
