There are many websites you can use to help you search and apply for a job online, such as Indeed.

The government also has a Find a job service.

When searching, ensure to filter the location to where you are willing to travel to and include relevant keywords to refine your search.

Some job adverts, mainly on company or recruiter websites, will have their own online application form. Some may let you upload a CV and it will populate the fields for you, but others you will have to fill out with all the information that is in your CV.

There may also be specific questions that are relevant to the company and role you are applying for. Check out the company's about us section, as well as comparing your answer to the job description and person specification to your CV. This may take some time, but it will help you build a profile and will support your application.

Funding to help you prepare for work

If you're receiving certain benefits, such as Universal Credit or Job Seekers Allowance, you may be able to get help from the Flexible Support Fund.

The discretionary scheme is available through your local Job Centre or work coach, and supports with the extra costs that may be a barrier to you starting work. This includes things such as buying formal work clothing or paying for travel expenses when attending interviews.

Funds are given as a grant so you won't have to pay it back.
